The father served in several executive positions of leading shoe manufacturers in the 1950's. The brothers could see there was a gap in the market for modern ladies shoes that were of high quality and stylish. So they formed the Tate Shoe Company and David Tate is part of the company.

David Tate shoes focus on the casual look with a design staff headed by David Tatiossian. Even though the shoes are made in the state of the art factory much of the stitching and detailing is done by hand in the traditional way for a fine finish.
